Demolition Give Organization First Playoff Win
Friday the Demolition came away with a round one sweep of the
Feasterville Fury. Leading the way was Jim Lundquist with stellar
goaltending, allowing just 2 goals in 2 games. The offense was lead by
shorthanded specialist Jason Cassidy (1G, 2PTS) followed by Joseph
Catalano (1G, 2PTS) and Rob Basquill with the eventual game winner for
a final score of 4-1. The demolition showed an attack right from the
gate that could not be defended against. The long hours of practice
clearly showed as the Fury could not answer the repeated pressure
thrown their way. For the second game of the series, the Demolition
showed no mercy, sending the Fury packing with a final score of 6-1.
Again leading the Demolition in net was Jim Lundquist with another
great game allowing just 1 goal on 16 shots, 10 of which came in the
2nd half of the game. Again the offense was lead by Jason Cassidy (1G,
3PTS) and John Bright (1G, 3PTS), and Rick Neylan (1G, 2PTS).
The demolition now look to capture the Atlantic Division Championship as they face a very talented Garden State Growl this weekend at the Northeast Racket Club in PA. Game time is still to be announced. The Demolition finished just 5 points behind the Growl, which can easily be attributed to a lack of success in overtime, finishing the season with 5 overtime losses. Each game of the season series was an all out battle, in which the Growl hold the edge at 3-1. This includes a last second loss in the first game of the season, and an overtime thriller at home. Needless to say, these teams are much better matched than the numbers show. This is sure to be a championship series to remember!
